Over the past few years, a number of communes have been developing the function of Ombudsman, which strengthens the quality of service provided to citizens by the municipal administration.

In concrete terms, what is a municipal Ombudsman? It is a person who examines, independently and free of charge, the complaints of any person who feels personally aggrieved by an act or the operation of the municipal administration. On the basis of this impartial examination, he or she submits recommendations to the administration in order to propose more structural changes.
