Fight to keep our town clean
Some people think that stepping in dog poo is good luck, but let's face it, dog mess is a real scourge when it comes to keeping our streets clean! The council's litter control department is doing all it can to try and make our town cleaner: preventive measures (awareness campaigns, litter ambassadors, surveillance cameras) and punitive action are being taken, but unfortunately this doesn't seem to be enough.
We therefore want to step up the penalties for all types of littering (droppings, cigarette butts, illegal dumping, waste sorting, etc.) and strengthen the team of street sweepers who know their neighbourhoods and act as social links.
At the same time, we want to develop initiatives to combat waste (repair cafés, Freego, give boxes, etc.).
