Town council meeting #39: Avenue de Tervueren, 2022 budget and swearing in

18 oktober 2022

The College has responded to the citizens' interpellation that was filed in June about the bicycle path on Avenue de Tervueren. The file is still the object of a consultation between Woluwe-Saint-Pierre, Etterbeek and the Brussels region. A meeting took place on September 26. The burgomaster mentioned that a permit for this project would be submitted this year.

In its response, the College also confirmed that improvement works (financed by the Region) will take place in early 2023 at St. Pierre Square.

On the budget front, the Town Council received the new 2022 budget estimates, the deficit now stands at € 319,621.84 (out of a budget of +/- € 150 million). The main reason is the increase in personnel costs +/- 260.000,00 €. The second reason is the reduction of the Rights of Way for electricity and gas paid by Sibelga (via Interfin). These cause a loss of income of € 245,000. The doubling of the capacity of the Aimé Dupont crèche and the fact that it is running at full capacity leads to an increase in costs: annual maintenance and upkeep for the elevators, ventilation, air conditioning, heating, home automation, etc. All this impacts the budget by an additional €150,000.

The board welcomed a new Ecolo-Groen member in the person of Thibault Deleixhe. Welcome to the team! The appointment of Pieterjan Vanden Boer as a new Ecolo-Groen municipal officer has been postponed to the next council meeting due to an error of the municipal secretariat. Pieterjan succeeds Françoise de Halleux.

Next town council meeting on Monday 28 November 2022 at 8 pm!
