Interpellation about the Broebel vouchers
Interpellation of the College
At the next college meeting on 20 March, our local councillor, Françoise Duvosquel, will question the College on the Broebel vouchers initiative in order to measure its concrete impact on local trade with regard to its impact on municipal finances.
It has been a good year since the Broebel vouchers were introduced in Etterbeek. It is therefore appropriate to take stock of this initiative.
For a number of traders, the administrative burden of reimbursement seems to be an obstacle. The procedures for obtaining reimbursement are too restrictive for the self-employed and SMEs, which have difficulty in taking time off to complete these formalities.
For the service that manages the Broebel network, one can imagine the difficulty of keeping the list of partner establishments up to date.
Moreover, the presentation of the list of partners on the website suggests that the names are clickable, or that they can be located directly on a map, which is not the case for either option. The list would be more user-friendly if these functions were activated, but here again, this is only useful if regular and reactive monitoring is carried out.
In order to refine and objectify these impressions, we would like to have the key figures for evaluating the process, such as
- total value of broebels issued ;
- total value of broebels returned to the finance department for refund;
- number of traders who have applied for a refund;
- average time taken for reimbursement;
- workload of the municipal staff.
Answers, next Monday during the #ConseilCommunal (public, as always, feel free to attend!)
